Аннотация. Безопасное и безаварийное судоходство – основная цель судоходной отрасли. Для достижения этой цели необходим анализ предыдущих морских аварий. Это означает поиск причин несчастных случаев, принятие эффективных корректирующих мер, которые могут помочь уменьшить количество таких нежелательных событий в будущем и повысить безопасность судоходства. Поскольку широко признано, что человеческий фактор является причиной 80–85 % всех морских аварий, исследования были сосредоточены на анализе человеческого фактора в морских авариях.

The human factor as one of the main causes of accidents

Abstract. Safe and trouble–free navigation is the main goal of the shipping industry. To achieve this goal, an analysis of previous marine accidents is necessary. The reasons of such accidents should be found and, based on the results of the analysis, the effective corrective measures that can help reduce the number of such undesirable events in the future and increase the safety of navigation should be undertaken. As the human factors are recognized to be the reason of 80–85 % of all marine accidents, this research has focused on the analysis of human factors in marine accidents.
